Our History
Newcastle Communications was founded by Gioia P. Ambrette in
1981 when she used the proceeds from selling her home to start
a new venture few business people had heard of. Her vision was
to specialize as sales, design, and on-going support for
telephone Call Accounting systems.
At
that time, the marketplace had 144 manufacturers of both hardware and software
based Call Accounting Systems. Very few of those companies surpassed a million
dollars a year in sales and none had more than a 9% share of the marketplace.
Needless to say the industry was volatile - with companies rising and falling at
a rapid pace.
Telephone manufacturers, consultants and telephone companies, as well as
end-users, had a very difficult time determining which Call Accounting products
to use. There was no single entity operating on a national basis that
specialized solely in the distribution and support of telephone Call Accounting
systems, except Newcastle Communications.
Newcastle not only researched and tested those products; it also investigated
the financial condition of the manufacturers. When Newcastle recommended a
product, that recommendation could be trusted. This type of expertise and
commitment helped Newcastle strategically position itself to offer a unique
service to telephone consultants, telephone companies, and to end-users who were
not only too busy to be experts on Call Accounting, but who also did not have
the internal resources to thoroughly investigate the many systems available.
Newcastle became THE national expert in the Call Accounting industry,
distributing and installing more product than any other organization in the
country. In 1987, Newcastle took that same approach to the rapidly growing
Computer Telephony market and focused on Unified Messaging, Voice Processing,
Fax Servers and custom IVR programming. By hiring the best people, and carrying
a choice of leading products and system solutions, Newcastle's success
continues.
Newcastle is now a leader in the voice processing industry. Newcastle
Communications has built an outstanding reputation for the design,
implementation and on-going service of Voice Mail, Unified Messaging,
Intelligent Voice Response applications, Fax Servers, Call Accounting and VoIP
Phone System solutions among Fortune 1000 companies, and other organizations,
large and small.
